Jabiru airport is a small airport. It is used primarily as a fly-in-fly-out for the Ranger Uranium mine in Kakadu National Park. As of Jan 2021, the Ranger mine is closing, so it will be interesting to see how the airport fares when the mining planes stop. The other main use for Jabiru airport is to fly scenic tours over Kakadu and Arnhem Land, which I why I was there. There is a souvenir shop, some drinks and food options, as well as the tour offices for the scenic flight companies. If you are booked for a scenic flight, there is everything you need here if you want souvenirs, and don't forget to ask.. you get 20% off souvenirs if you have taken a scenic flight with some operators.
