We arrived at the Tavern to have lunch- it is the only establishment in town where you can eat. They advertise lunch from 12pm to 2pm and we arrived at 12.55pm. Asked for a table for 2. There were 2 such tables vacant. We were told that the chef had a backup of meals. We said we were in no hurry so could wait. The lady went out to the kitchen to check and came back to tell us they couldn't accommodate us!! I said are you joking? I was met with a sorry!! I only wonder if the owner of the Tavern knows this is going on? Very disappointing experience :(

great friendly staff, fantastic food; had a parma on parma night (Wednesday night) which was great as well as a roast of the day (Gf as my girlfriend is gluten intollerant), free pool and darts, all around great pub. was lucky enough to meet the owner who was a great guy and gave us some local tassie places to go to as travellers! would recommend 100%
staying at the local free (donation) powered campground walking distance down the road
