Perhaps a little overpriced but definitely worth the visit. Historical significance
This was an awesome day out. It was cloudy and kind of rainy when my partner and I went a few weeks ago whilst on holiday in Albany, but I think it contributed to our great experience - it was very quiet and almost eerie. Australia's past with whaling is confronting and it made us uncomfortable at times but it was a true and real representation of what happened and what the industry was like back then. Don't let bad weather put you off going here!

Really good value for money as there are a lot to see here, the admission also gives you access to the botanical gardens and wildlife park. The self guided tour of ship was definitely a highlight, as I don’t think you’d get to see a more in depth and open ship anywhere else. Beware the hidden mannequins! They gave us quite a fright! The rest of the whaling station tour was very eye opening and can be confronting for whale lovers but also very educational.

Great day out, only had 3 hours but not enough time. We didn't get to go through the gardens, great day out for all members of the family. Quite a bit of reading to do for little people, would love to have headsets around to read out the information. Awesome day out and thoroughly recommend the visit
This place, so good despite such a horrible history. I really wish this part of our history was made up. It is confronting and encouraging at the same time. The family pass was $75 for a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) but if your child is 5 and under they are free. This price includes entry to the wildlife park as well. The whaling station has interesting displays in all of it's old buildings. 3 movie theatres, one 3D, photos, museums and a whale skeleton. You can explore the whale boat and walk around it. Most of the displays are interactive. A really informative and enlightening experience suitable for everyone. The play ground is a hit for everyone. This is well worth doing. The wild life park has unusual animals and highlights the native plants of the area. It is well maintained and with board walks. I recommend visiting this place.
